Real Madrid emphatic 7-1 victory over Celta Vigo; Ronaldo shines with his four goals

No matter if Real Madrid is winning titles these days or not, or if they are anyway looking to take away any big silverware this season, they have always been in the news for their firing forward line and this time too when everyone is talking about Ronaldo’s recent media statement where he grossly presented himself way better than anyone else in the side, this Portuguese guy did it again. He scored a four-goal haul in the last 7-1 crushing victory over Celta Vigo at home. It was the first time Real were paying in home ground after shocking 1-0 defeat to Atletico and expectedly when they entered into the field whole crowd hooted them for the way they were overcome by the city mate. But anyways, 31-year-old former Manchester United forward was not in a mood to give it away that easy and he almost devastated the Eduardo Berizzo defense. Although, first half was rather a nail biting one when none of the side could manage to score the net except Pepe who just hit the touchline before the half time.

Second half was the one to look for where Ronaldo scored four goals in 25 minutes to take his side at invincible position; his tally this season has now touched 252 goals in just 228 La Liga games! Then, Jese Rodriguez and Gareth Bale added some cherries to their lead and fans started bucking up their side. Looking at this performance, manager Zidane said, “I will stick with his performance. It’s part of football that the fans whistle sometimes, not just Cristiano. It is like that. These are demanding fans who know the game well and always want more from their players. That is good to improve, to do more, and we always need to do more.

“Then, you all know Cristiano — he is capable of putting in four. Few can do that. He is unique. It is unique. It is something that just he has. You say I hit it well … maybe from closer in, and I never scored four goals, so I don’t know the feeling. Few players can have that feeling. He is at Madrid, he is strong, he is able to score goals in about 30 minutes. I cannot explain more than that. I am happy when I see him scoring goals.”

Adding about the change in mood of the crowd and how they began applauding home side, 43-year-old Frenchman added, “There was something said at half-time, of course, but in the first half the opponent played too. They are a good team. We knew it would be difficult to play well for 90 minutes. In the second half we came out very strong, pressed more up front, and then always when you score a goal it is easier.”

Ronaldo credits his well-maintained fitness for a flourishing ten-year career

Actually, this star forward is now thirty plus and assumingly not many years are left in his career now, so experts believe he should take care of his words before issuing any public statement since it can affect his glorious career. Anyways, talking about his ten years long career and how he could manage to keep himself in line with best soccer talent in the world, 31-year-old forward said, “Talent means nothing without hard work. I want to keep up my momentum. I think my level is the same in the last 10 years. I just want to keep doing the same with Real Madrid, winning trophies for the team as well as individual prizes so that my fans can be happy with Cristiano. That’s my motivation.

“We had a really good performance in Roma with two goals but now is going to be another game at home. We have a good advantage but you can not trust, we have to win playing well to get the next Champions League round. That’s what we want.”

Luis Enrique calls it ‘positive attitude’ that is helping them deliver brilliance this year too

How best a team performs is largely influenced by the morale level each of the teammates enjoys during or ahead of a league and if any side scores good in that area they become hard to beat and this is something that seems to be happening with Spanish giant Barcelona who seems like continuing from the last year when they triumphed as many as three titles. While everyone has his own views over this stunning form of the Camp Nou side, manager Luis Enrique calls it an aftermath of positive attitude his men carry with them. But we overcome that in the best way with attitude, intensity and accuracy, making chances from regaining possession from Rayo. We played very well, and when the team shows this level of intensity and attitude it is very difficult for the opponent.”

However, he as well refused to claim themselves as the winner since there is plenty of time remaining in the season, yet he could not stop himself presenting his side as the best one this year. He added, “It all forms part of how the season plays out. We are getting close to the final third of the campaign, the nicest part, and we have to wait and see what we achieve at the end. We will win what we deserve to win. We are not too good in that statistic, but in the end it was just an anecdote from this game. We must improve in this aspect, but I have already said this is not something that worries me too much.”

Replying over questions about referee’s role in the game and if any of their decisions went against them, he politely replied, “I have nothing to say about the performance of the referee.”

Real Madrid beat Sporting Gijon amid injuries to Gareth Bale and Benzema

The biggest concern for every new manager joining a big side has ever been the injuries that could hamper his success rate to the worst and Real Madrid’s newly appointed boss Zinedine Zidane seems not interested that anything like this happens to him hence he is not weighing Gareth Bale’s latest calf injury that mush, in fact, 43-year-old Frenchman is confident Bale would join them back soon after an impressive show in the Sunday’s 5-1 La Liga win over Sporting Gijon at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Actually, Bale’s form has ever been a cause of concern for everyone at Real and now when he is showing a sign of improvement, his injuries are not letting him perform with his full caliber. He was the one who opened the score tally for his side in the last game making his personal total to eleven in eight played games. Alongside, he got the full support of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema who as well scored two goals each to take Real’s lead to 5-0 at one time. Although, El Molinón side showed some resistance thereafter and shredded off one goal but it was too late by then.

The 26-year-old Wales international did not impart in the second half for his injury and his comeback has since been skeptical but after early medical scans it is now cleared he can join the team sooner than expected. Talking about the game and how they played at home, Zidane said in the post-match news conference, “We played a very good first half, very plugged in, very focused from the start. We prepared well. We are happy with how the game went. First half was spectacular, but we are going to improve. We have to improve a lot, and we will do that. What we want is to win games, but above all at end of the season, as that is when all is decided.

“Obviously it is a fantastic start, to score five goals twice is not easy at all. But I know the team we have, what we can do, what we will do in the future. I expect a lot from this team. To win many games and to win a trophy at the end of the season. This was against Sporting, we will have difficult games, as the season goes on, for sure.”

Real president Florentino Perez expresses their unawareness over Denis Cheryshev issue

Whenever we have a big and recognized soccer club in the field, it is not supposed from them to violate any rule of the game even if it happens unintentionally, and if it takes place, it is taken as a surprise to many that how such a side with an army of experts can do so. Real Madrid is one such side who recently included winger Denis Cheryshev in its starting lineup for the game against Segunda B club Cadiz on Thursday. Initially, no one noticed what is happening but when Cadiz came to know that 24-year-old Russian footballer has had been booked three times last season playing at Villarreal on loan, they filed a formal complaint citing the mistake done by the Spanish side. Looking at the complaint, Real first replied that any such sanction is not applicable since player was not notified personally but later looking at the heat on the issue, club president denied of having done anything wrong deliberately. Florentino Perez expresses his ignorance about the issue and said, “We did not have any knowledge nor did the player of his own suspension. No one knew. After an analysis with the board of directors, we have decided that the suspension for three yellow cards was not effective because no one communicated it to the player as per Article 41.

“Real Madrid was not aware of the existence of any sanction, no one communicated that to us. The CAS has dictated that a player receive a personal notification. If we admit that the suspension was efficent, it would have to have been annulled according to Article 112, which states that the suspension is not effective because it was not communicated to the player so there was no fielding of an ineligible player.”

Clarifying their earlier stand that player was not notified on the issue, 68-year-old added, “It makes no sense to say that the player was notified if it was not so. Madrid has not been able to anything more than analyse the nature of this reality and we believe the suspension was not done effectively. We will in the very least go to the CAS because there is jurisdiction. If someone did not do their job, we would ask for forgiveness. But if the player has not told us, nor the federation, nor Villarreal, it is impossible for us to be aware. We did not receive any information on July 27. The federation knows this.

“No one was negligent at Real Madrid. That is our conclusion after speaking with our legal team.”
